Mezzanine floors are a very simple idea, maximizing the available space within an existing building by introducing a second floor level, however if you have never considered purchasing one before this article may assist you to understand the procedure from initial enquiry to final completion of works.

If you know what you want contact us by phone, fax or email with your enquiry and we will respond within a few hours with an accurate cost based upon the information provided.

If you are unsure of your needs and wish to discuss them in detail, call us and we can offer great advice from our wealth of practical and technical experience in all aspects of mezzanine floors.

Once you have received our initial quotation we would be happy to arrange a site survey free of charge with one of our highly experienced surveyors to discuss your requirements in more detail, giving us the opportunity to see the site and to understand your operational needs. At this meeting we will listen to your needs and offer practical solutions to your requirements whilst ensuring that the requirements of the Building Regulations are implemented within the design.

Following our site survey we would prepare easy to read layout drawings clearly detailing the main components which are likely to be important to you, like staircase positions and support column locations etc. We would then prepare our quotation based upon this layout drawing, highlighting any optional extras or requirements of the Building Regulations.

Once you are in receipt of our drawing please do contact us again to discuss any aspects which may require clarification. We are also more than happy to revise our drawing or make alterations should the need arise. In many instances customers have a particular need which may not be straight forward to resolve but we are prepared to input time and effort to come up with the best and most satisfactory solutions.

We would always prefer spending that little bit of extra design time getting the proposal right rather than discovering a problem once the structure has been installed and we go to great lengths to ensure that our clients understand what they will be getting.

Once you are happy with our proposal and are ready to place an order with us we will require a purchase order and agreed deposit payment plus approval of our drawing, to enable us to proceed further with the contract.

Building Regulations approval is a requirement for every mezzanine floor and as such if you need our assistance we are happy to apply for this on your behalf, the application fee would be charged extra at cost. We generally apply to an Approved Inspector, who will notify your Local Council and liaise with your local Fire Officer. This Approved Inspector can generally give us a verbal approval within a few days of the submission and at this stage we are able to commence with the manufacture of the structure.

Dependant upon the size of the mezzanine structure our manufacturing lead time is generally two to three weeks. As we are manufacturers we have total flexibility and if necessary we may be able to reduce manufacturing timescales on some contracts where time is crucial.

To install a mezzanine floor we will require a suitable fork lift truck for off loading and installation purposes, electrical sockets to run our power tools and reasonable lighting. If any of the above are not available we can make provision by hiring in the specialist equipment required, however this will be charged as extra to the contract price unless specified in our quotation. We would generally provide all access equipment required such as ladders, scaffold towers and scissor lifts.

Our installation team will arrive on site to meet the delivery vehicle and will work in accordance with our standard method statement. This method statement is available upon request along with our risk assessments.

Once the installation is complete any surplus materials, generally packaging and decking board off cuts will be tidied to a single location for removal by others. If you wish us to provide a skip this would be charged as extra unless specified in our quotation.

Before leaving site our installation team will walk the job with you or your designated representative to ensure that you are satisfied with all aspects of the work and will make every effort to ensure that the contract has been completed to your total satisfaction.

Once complete we would submit our final invoice which should be paid in accordance with our agreed contract terms.
